Stay Productive in September

August 19, 2020

Have you and your family already developed a routine over the past few months, since the beginning of Covid-19? To your kid’s dismay (maybe not yours), endless home entertainment is switching to homework help come September! As school slowly begins again, developing new productive routines can be tough after having adjusted to summer life – but it’s certainly not impossible.

It can take anywhere from 18 to 254 days for a person to form a new habit and an average of 66 days for a new behavior to become automatic. Yes – 18 to 254 is a HUGE range, but we’ve got some ideas here for how to help you and your family pick things back up quickly (in a safe way).

Write things down – When you have a lot to do in a limited amount of time, the best thing you can do is write it all out. There is nothing worse than forgetting something during the day and not realizing till it’s too late! Plan your daily routine out and get yourself into the groove of knowing what to expect next.

To-do lists help you visualize your short term goals, and the satisfaction of crossing the boxes out also offers a little euphoria at the end of each day. NIKU Farms always sends you e-mail reminders to customize your box in-time for you to pick and choose your options, and our curated bundles make it as easy as 1,2,3.

Start small – If you’re looking to develop habits or break bad ones, remember that sustainable change happens slowly (for most!). For example, if you’re deciding to try a new paleo diet, it could be difficult to rip the bandaid off and commit immediately.

Start with smaller attainable goals first, like preparing paleo meals three times a week. Then move forward from there. If you’re looking for some tried and tested paleo recipes, why not try one of our favourites – paleo chicken ramen

Get specific – Every procrastinator’s downfall is thinking, ‘I’ll do it later.’ Avoid this by getting specific with your goals and even go as far as scheduling each task by time! Dinner is in the evening, but a lot of meals require prep earlier in the day – and as a busybody (we know you are), it’s easy to let dinner prep slip your mind.

Start making prep a part of your routine by giving yourself gentle reminders on your phone so that small but essential tasks don’t slip your mind. If you’re planning on cooking some delicious grass-fed steak that you had delivered – don’t forget to defrost it in the afternoon before cooking.

Making NIKU Farms a part of your weekly routine helps save so much time on groceries and meal planning. While others are in-store trying to think about what to buy for dinner, all you have to do is log onto your NIKU account and select from our thoughtfully curated bundles. If you want something unique – all you have to do is click a button and add-on your choice from our extensive a la carte options!

Sign-up and customize your first box today and refresh your weekly routine by making more time for better things.
