Dinner Inspiration for Cheese Lovers | NIKU Farms

NIKU Farms wishes all of you a Happy Cheese Lovers Day!

Yes, that’s right – today is the day you’re allowed and encouraged to rave about how much you love cheese on everything you eat.

Meat and cheese go together like peanut butter and jelly. There’s really nothing else that compliments a greasy, flavourful, pasture-raised meat quite like the right creamy, delicious cheese. 

We’re here to give you some ideas for how you can add cheese to your recipes with the contents of your next NIKU Farms meat delivery.

Cheese-Stuffed Cheeseburgers

Can’t get enough cheese on top of your burgers? Instead of just putting a slice of cheddar cheese on top of your grass fed beef patty, why not put some cheese inside the patty?

Use pasture raised ground beef to make two thin burger patties. Put your favourite type of cheese into the centre of one patty, then lay the second patty on top. Try cheddar, monterey jack, habanero shredded cheese, or mozzarella. Push the sides of the patties together and season the stuffed patty with salt and pepper before putting it on the grill. 

For extra cheesy goodness, put another slice of cheese on top!

Classic Chicken Parmesan

Is there any better way to incorporate cheese into your pasture-raised chicken dishes?

Season your chicken breast with salt and pepper, and cook until nearly done. That’s when it’s time to bake the chicken. Put your breast in an oven-safe pan or ramuken, then pour in the tomato sauce with seasoning of your choice. Sprinkle a good amount of quality parmesan cheese over the chicken and bake in the oven until the cheese is melted.

Beef Stroganoff with Cream Cheese

Can’t get enough of a good noodle for your family’s weeknight dinner? Try cooking up a beef stroganoff to serve over pasta!

Cook your seasoned stew beef in olive oil until browned and then remove from the heat. Then mix melted butter, mushrooms, beef stock and flour in a pan. Add some cream cheese when you’re about ready to eat to make the sauce super creamy and delicious, then mix your stroganoff sauce with the beef and pour over cooked pasta. We recommend using a shorter noodle, like penne or rigatoni.

Cheese and Broccoli Casserole with Chicken

Name something that makes broccoli more delicious than a heaping serving of melted cheddar cheese. That’s right – adding pasture raised chicken to that cheese and broccoli casserole.

Preheat your oven to 350F, and cook your chicken breast until it’s no longer pink. Mix broccoli, cheddar cheese, cream of cheddar soup, sour cream, and parmesan cheese in an oven-safe casserole dish.

Cut chicken into small, bite-sized pieces and add it to the mixture, then bake for 20 minutes – until the cheese casserole is melted and golden brown. Sprinkle some shredded cheese on top, for added cheesiness!
