Beef Bolognese Sauce
Do you love spaghetti and meatballs? There’s nothing like a hearty beef bolognese – grass-fed ground beef, tomatoes, onions, and your favourite Italian herbs and spices that you can use to top off almost any type of pasta! What’s not to love?
We recommend using a bolognese the next time you make a cheesy homemade lasagna, or a thicker pasta that will help carry the meat sauce.
Chicken Penne
If you prefer poultry to beef, chicken penne is a no-brainer! Add chicken breasts to your next NIKU box, then slice and dice and cook it with a creamy, buttery white sauce with some oregano, basil or sage. Once the chicken is cooked, top a penne or similar noodle with the sauce, and enjoy!
Sausage Fusilli
To add a little more fatty flavour to your pasta, choose a shorter noodle (like fusilli) and go with a pasture-raised pork option. We suggest using any of our farms’ sausage selection and slicing it up, adding it to your cooked pasta, and using some red pepper flakes or cayenne in a tomato sauce for some heat.
Rainbow Trout Spaghetti
If you can’t get enough fish, or lean towards a pescatarian diet, you can absolutely incorporate this into your favourite pasta dishes. Cook up a spaghetti or spaghettini with a butter sauce and sprinkle some parmesan cheese, then top with some oven-baked rainbow trout for a mild but delicious flavour!
